Indian Head Emotional Freedom Technique ("Tapping")


E.F.T. is one of a number of forms of "Energy Tapping" that combines the principles of ancient Chinese medicine with modern psychology.

It is based on the understanding that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's subtle energy system.

Gentle tapping on a number of major meridian end-points stimulates electro-magnetic activity, releasing blockages within the energy system which are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort. It is also understood that some of this activity sends calming signals to the part of the brain that detects threats and is involved in all anxiety disorders. When we combine these effects with mental focus on the issue being treated, profound changes can take place. After an EFT treatment we find that any high, negative emotional charge is dramatically reduced. Insights are often received that contribute to one's greater self awareness.

What are the benefits?

What happens during a session?

EFT sessions can be done in person in a quiet and comfortable setting, or can also be done via SKYPE which eliminates the need to travel for a treatment. The first session can take up to 90 mins but any subsequent sessions, if required, are an hour.

The problem you wish to address and its opposing benchmark for success is identified at the start of the session. Your Practitioner then guides you through the process, which includes gentle tapping on meridian points in combination with spoken affirmations and reminder phrases. The meridian points most likely to be used are located on the head, face, upper body and hands and there is no need to remove any clothing in order to tap more effectively.

Inner stress stored in the body from previous trauma or life shocks, often in our subconscious mind and hardly remembered, of often at the core of fears and phobias.   The core issues if identified and addressed.   EFT is so effective, that if an issue is so deeply personal or traumatic that a client does not feel comfortable discussing detail, the client does not need to verbalise their thoughts, and can simply focus on the memory or feeling.   Of course, I aim for my clients to feel comfortable with me, and fully supported by me,  with absolute confidentiality assured, so if you are thinking about booking an EFT session, do feel free to get in touch any time for an informal chat to ensure you get all the information you need so you can make an informed decision either way.

One of the beautiful things about EFT is that the client will usually receive new insights or understandings about the problem, a new perspective, and this can help the person feel much calmer and more relaxed about things.

It's a wonderful technique and was originally designed as a self help tool, so the client will learn how to use it as it is applied during their session with me, and be able to use it themselves on other issues or stresses in the future.
