"I used to have such a bad spider phobia, I couldn't bear to be in the same room as even the tiniest money spider! I would climb over furniture to make an exit around one, rather than go anywhere near. After an hour of EFT, my fear had reduced dramatically. It helped me realise my phobia was related to a particular event I had as a child. The EFT session gave me a whole new perspective on it which helped restore my confidence. Now, I can catch spiders and put them outside (at arms length!) which is a huge achievement for me and it has made such a difference to life at home."
"I am really pleased!"
Arachnophobia - Signs and symptoms
People with arachnophobia tend to feel uneasy in any area they believe could harbour spiders or that has visible signs of their presence, such as webs.
If arachnophobics see a spider, they may not enter the general vicinity until they have overcome the panic attack that is often associated with their phobia. Some people scream, cry, jump from moving cars, have trouble breathing, have excessive sweating or even heart trouble when they come in contact with an area near spiders or their webs. In some extreme cases, even a picture or a realistic drawing of a spider can also trigger fear.
